What's hot at the flea? Get the skinny from Utah flea market organizers!

Do you love a flea market?

Here’s what Utah flea organizers
have to say about what’s HOT. . . .

3 Dotters Vintage Market ~ Jennifer Reed

fleattitude co-founder Jennifer Reed is spreading her wings and flying solo with the debut of 3 Dotters Vintage Market.  She’s thrilled to be able to keep an indoor flea in Utah County.
·         Best-selling items:  Kitchenware, vintage clothing, furniture, salvage, and vintage goodies for crafting (i.e. buttons, game pieces, and doo-dads galore)
·         Best find ever:  My husband. . . .
·         Favorite recent find:  A pink and gold sofa from the estate of a 90-year-old woman in Ogden.  The price was so good I can’t even say!
·         Something you’ll never part with:  A 1926 “kingdom” mirror from a Masonic Temple in California
·         Next sale: October 11th in Pleasant Grove, 65 E 200 S, around 50 vendors

flea.o.logy ~ Paula & Nell Perkins

The flea at the Victorian mansion on Main Street in Payson, now in its ninth year, began as a yard sale for antique mall dealers to clear out their older merchandise.  flea.o.logy has grown from six vendors to nearly 50 scheduled to be at their upcoming sale.
·         Best-selling items:  “Trendy” items like globes and clocks as well as upcycled furniture
·         Best find ever:  30 pieces of brown aesthetic transferware at a second-hand store for $200; typically they sell for $20-50 per piece
·         Something you’d never part with:  The vintage oil painting of a young woman that hangs in my dining room
·         Next sale: August 30 at the flea.o.logy house, 218 N Main in Payson

fleattitude Vintage Market ~ Cathie Cox

fleattitude is moving to Salt Lake to a venue that will fit twice as many vendors.  That translates into twice as much vintage goodness for customers!
·         Best selling items: Industrial, salvage, farm & garden “junk” and shabby chic.
·         Best find ever:  A huge painted cubby shelf that came out of the garage at an estate sale – price: $50.  It now houses merchandise in my booth at Vine Street Antique Mall
·         Something you’d never part with:  The soap saver my grandma gave me.  We washed dishes together and she’d use the funny little wire cage with soap slivers in it to make the sudsy water.  Not worth much – but priceless
·         Next sale:  November 15 in the Grand Building at the Utah State Fair Park in Salt Lake, 155 N 1000 West, up to 80 vendors!

R House ~ Stephanie Johnson & Stephanie Schneck

The two Stephanies are your proverbial “two peas in a pod.”  Only their pod is a resplendent historic home in Springville filled with vintage delight.  Be prepared to be amazed by their talent for presentation.
·         Best-selling items:  Trunks & suitcases, custom bird feeders, old scales and vintage rockers
·         Best find ever:  An ornamental iron street light corner post that we “married” with a metal spoked wheel that likely came from a Model A.  The two were meant to be together!
·         Something you’d never part with:  The show-stopper outdoor rustic awning that we put up in the main room of our shop.  We love how it creates an unexpected style
·         Next sales: August 23 and September 20 at 211 N Main in Springville

The Summer Flea ~ Julie & Dani Smith

Enjoy a bit of British tradition right here in Utah at the Summer Flea’s “car boot” sales!  The mother/daughter team have a long-standing love of buying and selling at fleas and are hoping to win Salt Lake County over to their unique twist on them.
·         Best-selling items: Vintage fashion, ceramics & glassware, furniture and hand-made arts & crafts
·         Best find ever: A stunning Ossie Clark dress at a pop-up market in London.  Purchase price – about $11.00
·         Something you’ll never part with: Very high, baby blue leather “Biba” platforms.  They’re a museum piece.  Have them on my mantel!
·         Next sales: August 23 and 30 & September 6, 13 and 27 at the Equestrian Park, 2100 W 11400 S in South Jordan

Urban Flea Market ~ Michael Sanders & Kate Wheadon

The Urban Flea was born when Michael – a New Yorker – and Kate – who had been living in Los Angeles – got together in Salt Lake and were missing the amazing fleas they used to attend on either coast.  Now in its fourth year, the monthly (June-October) flea boasts nearly 100 vendors as well as pet adoptions, gourmet food trucks and music provided by KRCL.
·         Best-selling items: Original artwork, odd-ball knick-knacks and the eclectic!
·         Best find ever: Kate – A fabulous pair of red chalk-ware mid-century matador lamps
·         Something you’ll never part with: Michael – An enormous silver Western belt buckle that he found at the market
·         Next sales:  September 14 and October 12 at 600 S Main in Salt Lake

Vintage Whites Market ~ Jana Roach & Vanessa Pleasants

Born in a garage with five vendors, the Vintage Whites Market now has shows in three states, over 80 vendors at each one, and has been named one of the top 25 vintage markets in the country by Romantic Homes and Flea Market Style magazines.  Wow. . . .
·         Best-selling items:  Small furniture, kitchen items, pieces that customers can repurpose and the little things you never knew you always needed
·         Best find ever:  An old wooden shoe-form rack.  It has been in every room in my house!
·         Favorite recent find:  A 1900s parlor mantel that came out of a home in Philly with the best curves and a ton of character
·         Next Salt Lake sale:  March 14, 2015 in the Grand Building at the Utah State Fair Park
